  Establishment Objectives

In recent years, our country‘s duty to be a part of the international community has been steadily increasing, and as a result, remarkable things are happening in regards to regional internationalization. Now local communities are directly linked with various regions across the globe, making this an age in which we can contribute to world peace and prosperity.
Moreover, as the heart of internationalization lies in the evolution of multifaceted exchange via communication between people, cultures, and the transfer of information, to keep up with these demands there is thus a growing need for an increase in various international exchange activities for prefectural residents.
Furthermore, our prefecture has close ties to Asian countries such as China and Korea, in geographical terms as well as through our deep history of contact with them; therefore, we can contribute to the evolution of already rapidly growing Asian nations with the resources and growing foundation of international exchange that we have, such as through higher education and industry, in progressing toward the 21st Century. The consequence of these demands is that among the developments in regional internationalization, our prefecture has come to shoulder a part of the potential for the internationalization of our country.
Consequently, making use of our potential to increase the foundation of international exchange is not only a strategic measure for our prefecture, but also one that holds great meaning for the activation of the area.
Presently in Fukuoka prefecture, there are various internationalization activities run by local community groups, financial circles, academia, and international exchange organizations that concentrate their energy into internationalization within the prefecture. There is a still a need to urge the further expansion of independent exchange activities for residents of the prefecture, which can be accomplished by uniting the prefectural natives as one, establishing a system of core duties to be shouldered by the prefecture in regards to international activities, and advancing the mutual support and cooperation between groups of overlapping fields.
