Information from Fukuoka Prefecture – New H1N1 Influenza

At the moment, most of those with mild New H1N1 Influenza symptoms will recover. However, the number of patients is expected to increase due to the spreading of the influenza and the beginning of the school term.

Let’s keep the following in mind!
Let’s practice hand-washing and cough etiquette!
To avoid the spreading of infection, let’s practice hand-washing and cough etiquette.
Besides wearing a mask, please keep the following in mind while coughing in a crowd.

1. When coughing or sneezing, please turn away from others and cover your mouth and nose with a tissue. It is important that you do so especially if you are not wearing a mask. Remember to dispose of used tissues immediately.

2. Please wash your hands well with soap after coughing or sneezing.

3. Make it a habit to wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing. Do not leave the mask lying around, please dispose of it properly after use.

※In addition to cough etiquette, hand-washing is also critical in the prevention of infection. Proper hand-washing includes the use of soap, washing for more than 15 seconds, and then drying hands with clean towels or paper towels.
